Alhamdulillah, yesterday I was given the chance to have iftar with my Japanese friend. She embraced Islam through marriage, and is blessed with 5 beautiful and brilliant girls.

Yesterday I learned a lot from them. Though they have difficulties in learning about Islam, because there’s nobody here to teach them, their will to learn about Islam is very strong. And subhanallah, my friend said, Ramadhan is truly a beautiful and mysterious month. During this month she learned a lot about the Qur’an through animals, nature, friends and families.
She said, you can really see the difference in people’s actions when they follow Islam 100%, when they follow 48%, and when they don’t follow at all. The same goes for animals and plants. Everything in this world is a Muslim. Their actions are so perfect, and follow His orders beautifully. But humans?
I’m not trying to dishonor her or anyone, but I was so amazed to see her will because she can’t read the Arabic version of the Qur’an, so she reads the Japanese version. When I mean by the Japanese version, I don’t mean the translated version, but the romanized version. Get me? Anyway, she said she can really feel the difference when she reads the Qur’an, and when she doesn’t. She can feel the difference when she recites the dzikr, and when she doesn’t. She feels the difference when you pray, and when you don’t.
When you pray, when you recite the Qur’an, praise Allah, masyaAllah, everything goes smoothly. You’re very calm, all your actions come purely from the heart and you know He’s beside you, helping all the way. But, when you don’t pray, you forget about Him, even in the blink of an eye, everything seems so hard to do. Everything seems to go wrong, and seems very difficult to finish.
When you think about it, it’s kinda true. Try opening a bottle without saying “Bismillah”. Then, try opening it again after saying “Bismillah”. Something so simple, yet has a very big impact on our life. Does it not?
