Crushed Chicken, anyone?

Allahu Allah… Woke up today to a hectic start. Prepared lunch and breakfast, packed lunch, showered and got ready for today’s class. After 3 months of striving and staying up late, today was the day. It was my last and final presentation in front of the lecturers and the whole class for this semester.

But, who know me really well know that I don’t like to be in a rush. Since I was way behind schedule, I rode my bike at top speed, and somehow on the way I managed to lose my lunch, vitamins and medications. Great~

To make the whole story short, I’m just, happy I finished presenting and found my ‘lost’ lunch. I present to you guys, Crushed Chicken Tom Yam. ~~~

Oh yeah, it was snowing heavily today, so as you can see, my once yellow bag has turned black due to the snow and ofcourse, being run over by who knows how many cars~ Tisk, tisk.

Priceless

İ am literally freaking out here. İ’ve talked to 3 different generations, and it’s not helping.

But, when you get a message like this, and İ quote,

Yes, İ see the panic in you. Calm you must.

and that moment when you’re asleep and your besties calls you in the middle of the night just to share some laughs, loosen things up,

and Then, when you call your mother the next day and confide in her, all she had to say was,

İ also don’t know what to do, but just pray to Allah and see what’s best. He will give the answers. Try to read the du’a* İ taught you.

Totally priceless. Alhamdulillah, thank you Allah for sending me these precious gems into my life :’)

The du’a

“Kurang rasalah. Kalau tambah tomato lagi sedap.”

“Kenapa tak letak bunga warna merah? Lawa sikit.”

“Kenapa dia tak uruskan awal-awal?”

Manusia.

26 Ramadhan 1432H

Alhamdulillah, yesterday I was given the chance to have iftar with my Japanese friend. She embraced Islam through marriage, and is blessed with 5 beautiful and brilliant girls.

Yesterday I learned a lot from them. Though they have difficulties in learning about Islam, because there’s nobody here to teach them, their will to learn about Islam is very strong. And subhanallah, my friend said, Ramadhan is truly a beautiful and mysterious month. During this month she learned a lot about the Qur’an through animals, nature, friends and families.

She said, you can really see the difference in people’s actions when they follow Islam 100%, when they follow 48%, and when they don’t follow at all. The same goes for animals and plants. Everything in this world is a Muslim. Their actions are so perfect, and follow His orders beautifully. But humans?

I’m not trying to dishonor her or anyone, but I was Continue reading

Isn’t it enough?

Assalamu’alaikum dear brothers n sisters ^_^

Alhamdulillah I’ve just completed my fajr prayers n I thank Him, the Most Merciful… I was just waking up from my sleep today when I started to feel a quake. It was just a small tremble at the beginning, but then, it started to shake harder. I guess it went on for about a minute or so, n take note, to experience a quake more than 30 seconds means it’s a big quake n be ready for the worst.

Anyway, when it stopped shaking, I waited for the latest news n masyaAllah, it was a 6.4 ritcher scale earthquake!! N it was only 3 in the morning (imagine if it got worst, n we had to evacuate the building, but didn’t care to do so because we were in deep sleep, or didn’t bother to do so). Alhamdulillah He woke me up..

Speaking of quakes, you could say I’m kinda used to it by now, but in a sense, earthquakes, typhoons (a big one’s just heading towards Japan insyaAllah tomorrow), tsunamis, erupting volcanoes, floods n any other natural disasters that you can think of, are all signs of Allah the All Mighty.

Now guys,I’m not proud of what I did, but let this be a reminder to me n everyone else. Though I was kinda shocked by the tremor, I didn’t get up to pray instantly, but instead I went back to sleep.. Tsk, tsk,tsk..

How big does an earthquake have to be to make you realize His warning n remember Him? O Allah, please forgive me for my ignorance.. Living in a place where earthquakes, tornadoes, typhoons, tsunamis n the lot occurs every once in a while, is actually very precious. It is on these ‘occasions’ that we are reminded by Him. I guess I’m also grateful for being here because back home in Malaysia, you can’t experience it.. N even so, Continue reading

Bismillahhirrahmanirrahim..

It’s been 3 months after the Japan Pacific Earthquake and alhamdulillah we’re still alive today.. When I came back to Japan, I was given the chance to prepare food for the earthquake and tsunami victims in Ishinomaki, Miyagi. And insyaAllah, I’ll be going again this month..

It’s hard to describe what you feel into words, and I guess it can’t  be described even by a professional writer. One should experience it themselves to understand what one wants to convey, right? All I can say was I shed tears just looking at the scenery, and can’t even begin to imagine what the victims are going through. I am just very, very thankful my friends, teachers and I were safe. Here are some pictures me and my friends took in Ishinomaki, Minamisanriku and around Sendai, Miyagi, Japan.

Japan Quake 2011

Japanese people have been very open on Twitter about their experiences following the quake.  These snippets of what moved them and touched them during these very trying times are heart-warming.  I have attempted a rough translation on some of them so that you can have a read.

Please continue to pray for the people in Japan.

I hope these mini-stories will bring strength and encouragement to my friends and family in Japan by letting them know that, not only does the world sympathize with them, it looks up to them in admiration!  My thoughts are with you.
